又称刺儿鱼、古眼鱼、磁鱼、油鱼等。鲱形目，鲱科，鰶属。分布于印度到东印度群岛和朝鲜及日本南部，中国沿海均有分布。主要栖息于港湾和河口一带。以浮游生物和海底藻类为食。
