又名黄公灵、黄牯头。辐鳍鱼纲，鲶形目，鮠科，黄颡鱼属。主要分布于中国长江。黄颡鱼多在静水或江河缓流中活动，营底栖生活。白天栖息于湖水底层，夜间则游到水上层觅食。
