又名跳跳鱼，为鲈形目，虾虎鱼科，弹涂鱼属。中国地区主要分布于南海及东海，广东主要分布于珠江口、雷州湾等地。世界范围内分布于非洲西岸、印度、太平洋水域、新赫布里底群岛热带及亚热带近岸浅水区(美州不产)。栖息于河口咸淡水水域，近岸滩涂处或底质烂泥的低潮区，对恶劣环境的水质耐受力强。

Mainly distributed in the South Sea and the East Sea of China, also distributed in the Pearl River estuary , Leizhou Bay and other places of Guangdong. There are also distributed around the world, such as the West African coast of Africa, India, the Pacific waters, the new Hebrew Islands tropical and subtropical coastal shallow water.They inhabit in the entrance of the brackish water, near the beach or the bottom of the mud at low tide area, they also can tolerant the harsh environment of water quality.
